About the Zine

"Did you guys ever have a secret language?"
"Ever play pranks on people or switch places?"
"Can you feel what the other one is feeling when she's in pain?"
"Which one of you is the evil twin?"
"What's the point of talking to both of you? I can just
talk to one and get the same answer!"

Hearing these kinds of comments over and over again is what inspired us
to write this story, in the hopes of offering a better understanding
of twins as two individuals, as opposed to merely being duplicates,
carbon-copies, clones, or replicas of one person.

We are not conjoined (nor do we pretend to know what it's like).
We are simply using the sideshow to represent notions of
"spectacle" and "abnormality."

We are not Mabel and Sailor. We share some aspects of
their personalities; others are independent to their own.
Some of our experiences have inspired their fantastical ones;
others are invented. The zine is made up of spontaneous
ink and graphite drawings, impulsive collages that provide
a scrap-booking feel, sketchy comic-style strips,
and typewriter prose.
